God answers prayer and the need to pray together as a unified body of Christ has never been greater!
"Turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning."
The mission at TLN continues to focus on one pivotal theme that establishes purpose and stability while grounding us for all other facets of our lives. TLN’s focus has always been and will always remain to direct people to Christ. There is no wavering. Christ is truth and truth sets us free. Christ WILL answer. Christ IS the answer.
TLN is here to help you and those you love to navigate through tumultuous circumstances to find Christ and His purpose for your lives. Developing or strengthening skills to deepen your walk and feed your passion in seeking Him forms a strong foundation and sense of purpose so that you are not thrown by the storms you face. As time goes on, you may find that you have established an anchor in Christ that is immovable especially when the circumstances around you change.
About 6 years ago, I committed Friday mornings to prayer and fasting regarding situations I could not fix in my own power. Problems, and simply necessary decision-making, mounted to the point that it took focus off my mission. Immediately, I saw answers to prayer as I devoted this time to the Word and prayer. I also experienced delayed answers, healing and direction for family members who I prayed for each week. In fact, the original plan was to participate in the fasting process for a period of weeks, but answers to prayer and the relationship built with Christ is something I can’t give up to this day. For me, Friday mornings work best because my schedule slows down and there are more opportunities to get away with God (this may vary for you). I should add that some Fridays I have more time to devote to prayer than others. The important thing is not to be disappointed in the amount of time you allow, but that there IS time set aside.
Please take a moment to look at our video. Over the next few weeks, I’m inviting you to join me to commit a little time at your convenience to praying for:
If you would like to join us for the remaining weeks of Fast Friday, TLN will send a friendly reminder, along with a scripture, to cheer you on. Let us know you wish to be in on the Fast Friday conversation by signing up below. This is a confidential, personal commitment with no test at the end. We know that you are busy with plenty of distractions of your own. But we also know that God answers prayer and He inhabits our praise. There is power in prayer, and the need to pray together as a unified body of Christ has never been greater!
Will you join me?
In the book of Joel, Jesus himself said: "Yet even now, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” (Joel 2:12) The time set aside for this purpose is not in vain. Another favorite scripture that I have printed out and carry in my computer case is: “If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; THEN I will hear from heaven AND will forgive them, AND heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). What a promise to us. What a great time to devote to prayer.
Simply select a time in your day on Friday (or any other day that works best for you) to devote as little as 2 minutes to pray specifically for these areas of concern. And, add anything that is on your own heart where you need God’s touch. Seek God on what to fast. This is not a competition or race. The goal is to eliminate something significant for you for a short period of time as a symbol that nothing is more important than your relationship with Christ.
