Pacific Garden Mission is Chicago’s oldest homeless shelter. PGM:
Decorating our homes hasn’t only become fashionable since the dawn of HGTV. In fact, in the 1860’s, Sarah Dunn paused to admire her work on an elaborate decoration for her family home. Then she said she heard an AUDIBLE voice from God saying, ‘What are you doing to decorate your heavenly home?" Thoughts of perishing souls facing a Christ-less eternity motivated Sarah to start the Pacific Garden Mission. As Chicago’s oldest shelter, PGM has been meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of Chicago’s homeless since 1877. In 1886 a Chicago White Sox player visited – and got saved. Later, he left baseball for preaching. You might know him as the evangelist Billy Sunday. 130 years later, PGM continues to transform the lives of thousands of Chicagoans every year.

WAYS TO GIVE:
New and used, clean clothing in good condition is always welcome. We use men’s, women’s, youth, and children’s sizes. In addition, there is an ongoing need for new clothing such as socks, shirts, undergarments and seasonal clothing (ie. Winter: sweaters, jackets, gloves, mittens, boots, etc.)
Donate Goods and Essentials
Toiletries, grooming aids, as well as clothing and toys for children. There is always a special need for men’s underwear.
The best way to help PGM feed the homeless is to send a financial gift that may be used for that purpose. In addition, those in the Chicago area are welcome to drop off food items at the mission. All donations of clothing, essentials and food must be dropped off, or shipped to us. If you have a large shipment or a special desire and would like to speak to a donation representative at Pacific Garden Mission, please call 312-492-9410
