The Lighthouse Church of All Nations, based in southwest suburban Alsip, Illinois, has donated over $325,000.00 to the community since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Despite not having been able to have in-person services for eight months, many thousands of dollars had been given to online viewers each week. Now that in-person worship is back in session, gifts were given to a randomly chosen parishioner each Sunday since September 6, 2020.
The church has also donated thousands of dollars to local business Country House Restaurant, also based in Alsip, which has fed countless seniors and Veterans with free meals throughout the past few months. And they have continued to operate their weekly Open Hands Food Pantry which feeds thousands of community residents annually.
“We wanted to be a blessing to our friends and neighbors during a challenging time. Nothing beats being able to give back and bring joy to others,” shared Senior Pastor Rev. Dan Willis. The Lighthouse Church will continue giving back well beyond this. “It’s simply part of our culture,” added Pastor Dan.
Rev. Dan Willis is the founder and Senior Pastor of The Lighthouse Church. He has led the congregation since 1977, always with a strong focus on the community and youth. This non-denominational ministry is home to 72 different nationalities, 6,000 members and ministers to over 700 children and youth every weekend.
